Getting nowhere with the manufacturer’s repair service over several months, we finally called Appliance Pros to fix a fridge door and replace a stove control panel. Service was arranged within a few days by helpful Appliance Pros office staff. Sandy, the technician, was pleasant, super-competent, explained what was needed, and returned to install the new parts within a few days. Reviews the problem and asked questions to trouble  shoot the issue, found the problem and repaired it. Other contractor that visited  just said it was not a problem - that the issue was normal. Cliff arrived as scheduled and effectively and efficiently addressed the details that were totally missed by the delivery crew and the installer. This fridge in my opinion has multiple design flaws. These  include the design of the door light trigger switch, and the  way that removing the top service panel requires a large top gap to rotate it up and off. Our previous model was a straight on and off application for access to the top cavity of the fridge. The waterline connection was also an enigma for the installer.  We had asked for direction ahead of time from Whirlpool regarding this, as we anticipated a problem, and we received very little useful help. The installer had to obtain parts involving two trips to Home Depot to enable the connection to be made, and it was not done to spec. Cliff was able to get the door light to come on by bending parts out of factory spec upon opening the door, rather the 18+inches opening required when it was delivered. He addressed the removal of the upper panel and now it is removable without having to lower the fridge, but there is a large black gap at the top compared to our previous KitchenAid built in fridge. The protective plastic coating on all of the stainless fridge parts was a complete nightmare, and it still isn’t all off, despite several hours of effort. .Cliff advised us to use a hairdryer, but even that is proving extremely difficult, and the material extends behind factory joined components such as the lower trim edging on the top grill. We have been trying to dig out the unsightly residual plastic film using wooden BBQ sticks etc. with limited success. There still is significant glue remaining, and it looks like crap. We have had a multitude of fridges in our lives including many KitchenAids, SubZeros etc, and have never had to spend so many hours trying to get the expensive appliance usable. The design of the removable top panel is case in point. The fridge is designed to be a built in, but the gap that has to be left to allow removal of this panel for any purpose, such as adjusting the door light switch,  is totally contrary to the esthetic that people are trying to achieve with built in appliances. If you jack up the fridge to close the gap to an acceptable level, any time that you need to remove the top panel, you have to pull off and unscrew the lower skirt, and use ratchet wrenches to lower the fridge! “User friendly” doesn’t even enter into the thought process. Our previous KitchenAid of 22 years service, simply had the top panel attached by clips that allowed straight in and out install and removal, so the top gap was not an eyesore! What was wrong with that design? Anyways, all these negatives should not reflect on Cliff, and/or the very personable individual who took our call and very promptly arranged Cliff’s visit. Compliments on how rapidly you dealt with our concerns, but frankly the concerns are there by design, and I think you should address those design issues proactively, as opposed to having to correct them after delivery and installation. Would I ever buy a KitchenAid again? Not based on this experience I would think. All this aside, we were very impressed by Cliff and how he approached the details that needed to be looked after.  Terrific guy to have in your corner when you make appliances that are poorly designed! So, despite the design flaws,  the fridge is now in functional order we think, save for another hour or two trying to figure out how to remove the annoying protective film. Hope this is constructive, but if you are like most firms, I’m sure this will fall on deaf ears. The ball is, as they say, now pin your court. PS The five stars are for Cliff and not the product!!! Our fridge wasn’t cooling so we thought we would have to replace our (expensive) fridge (ugh!). But thankfully, Colton diagnosed the problem quickly and went out of his way to make sure we had our refrigerator working again as soon as possible! He was incredible and guided us all the way in making decisions about what parts to change in a cost-effective manner. He was dedicated to resolving the issue and proved to be expert in problem solving the issue. He finished the job well after 8pm! He installed the part next day, showed how the fan was now working, and had everything back together in no time! I am also impressed how the service call fee goes towards the labour of the repair. Whirlpool was quick to respond. I sent a request on Friday and Adam, the technician, came on Monday to check the dishwasher. He was able to identify the problem in just a few minutes. Called for service on my dishwasher. Technician Dave was out the next day, accessed the machine, found that the heater element was on recall, ordered the part and was back in 24 hours to replace it. Manvir, the second service tech who came to our house, was fantastic. (The stars are due to him). Prior to him though, our experience getting service for our fridge was not good. We had just purchased a new Whirlpool French door fridge and very quickly realized that the left door did not close properly without considerable effort. Otherwise, it stayed open and sometimes also knocked open the right door. Many attempts were made to bring this to the attention of the store and to Whirlpool, as we wanted the fridge fixed or replaced. Note: When calling Whirlpool customer service, be prepared to wait on hold for quite a while. After explaining our issue on the phone, they booked a service appointment. This first service appointment went horribly. The tech (didn’t give his name) quickly dismissed my concern, saying that’s how these fridges function and that it’s not a problem.  He left without providing any assistance. We called customer service again and stated that we disagreed with the tech’s report and that we were still looking to resolve the problem with the fridge. They agreed to send another tech for a second opinion.  Manvir was the second tech who arrived and immediately acknowledged that the fridge doors were not functioning as they should. He identified an issue with the mullion and returned a few days later to replace it. It seems to be closing much better now. A big thanks to Manvir!  We’ve spent considerable time over the past few weeks trying to get this resolved and he was very helpful.

Cliff was super helpful in understanding my needs. He clearly explained to me how to solve the problem i was facing in connecting source of water from Sink to target refrigerator. He also let me borrow his drill bit. He tested the connection and Cliff made sure he left “just enough slack” for the water pipe. He used a high quality material and took this decision independently (ensuring long term durability for his customers). He was just in time and got the job done in a record time.
