Why is my gas stove not lighting?

To help you understand why your gas stove does not ignite, here are some troubleshooting tips that may help:

  • Check if element ports are clogged.
  • Ensure the base and burner cap are positioned properly.
  • Check that the main gas valve is turned ON.

Why is my stove oven not working?

Are you finding that your oven is not working? These troubleshooting tips below may help:

  • Determine if there has been a recent power outage. An oven not working can be the result of a power failure.
  • Check if the control panel is locked or in demo mode.
  • Verify that the control is not set for a Delay Start.
  • Check if a household circuit breaker tripped or if a fuse was blown.

Why is my gas oven not working?

If you’re having trouble with your gas oven not lighting, here are some troubleshooting tips that may help you identify the source:

  • Do not cover the oven bottom with aluminum foil or an oven bottom liner. This can block air or gas flow to the burner.
  • Remove all items from the storage drawer and test oven operation.
  • Determine if the range was recently installed or re-connected to the gas supply.
  • Check if the unit power cord is connected to a grounded, operational outlet.
  • Check that the main gas valve is turned ON.

  • Check if a household circuit breaker tripped or if a fuse was blown.
  • Try powering the unit down by turning off the circuit breaker(s) for one (1) minute.

  • Uninstalling the old product
  • Uncrating
  • Unpacking the interior
  • Installing the anti-tip device
  • Gas: Connecting approved 4′ flex gas lines
  • Plugging in and testing for gas leaks or proper operation, depending on gas or electric

How to prepare for your range, cooktop or oven installation.

  • The installer will install any anti-tip devices.
  • For electric: Make sure the electrical outlet is securely attached to the wall or floor and meets the National Electrical Code requirements for ranges.
  • For gas: The installer will only connect to an approved operational gas shutoff valve that is within 4′ of the range.
  • The installer will not route a flex gas line through a cabinet or fixed walls and floors.
  • The installer will not provide conversions for the LPG fuel source.
  • The installer will not install on a carpeted floor.
